Man Utd In a ‘Conclusive Minute’ And ‘Can Improve’ – Ibrahimovic

Zlatan Ibrahimovic said Manchester United are in the midst of a “decisive moment” in their season after his hat trick secured a 3-0 Europa League win over St Etienne on Thursday.

Ibrahimovic scored from a soft free kick that dribbled through the wall, the simplest of tap-ins and a penalty after a questionable decision to help Man United move closer to reaching the round of 16.

“We created good chances. It was important to get a good win at home and we bring it with us for the second leg,” Ibrahimovic told BT Sport. “It was a good game, we played good collectively. I think we can do much more but we won the game and that’s the most important.”

And though United’s Premier League title chances may be slim, Ibrahimovic took heart in the fact that the club are still competing on all fronts.

The Red Devils confront Blackburn in the FA Cup on Sunday before the arrival leg in France next Wednesday, which goes before the EFL Cup last against Southampton on Feb. 26.

“We’re upbeat right now. This is the definitive minute for the season and the second 50% of the season is the one which chooses what will happen.

“That is the goal; we’re still in four [competitions]. In the event that we don’t win the Premier League we could get some different trophies and that is great too.”

Ibrahimovic was likewise his standard unobtrusive self, saying he had become usual to scoring against St Etienne amid his time with Paris Saint-Germain.

“Each time I’ve played against Saint-Etienne, with diligent work there has been several objectives,” he said. “I’ve scored two or three objectives this evening and ideally I can do likewise one week from now.”
