AS Real Bamako of Mali head coach, Pascal Pons, has attributed his team’s 0-0 draw at home to Rivers United to lack of knowledge of the team.
The hosts could not penetrate through the backline formed by Femi Thomas, Gabriel Olalekan, Zoumana Doumbia, Festus Austin and Markson Ojobo as they settled for draw at home in a club competition higher goals margin decide who move to the next round but Pons disclosed that they will work on the match tapes of the first leg tie to see where the Nigerians are weak.
Pons noted that they will use the few days before the tie to plot the right strategy to adopt and that they won’t be novice about their foes when the second leg will be decided in Port Harcourt next Sunday.
“It (the outcome) was alright despite the fact that we played a goalless draw,” Pons told media.
“We couldn’t generally comprehend the strategies and arrangement of our rivals today. We indicated great aptitudes however it was hard to tell precisely how our rivals would play since we didn’t know much about them.
“We have seven days to get ready and in the following one week, we will be very much arranged as we now comprehend them better.”
